Duties

  • Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Specialist and the general supervision of the Human Resources Officer. 
  • The incumbent provides a full range of Payroll and Time & Attendance services the USDHs, Eligible Family Members and Locally Employed Staff and serves as the primary point of contact with the Global Financial Services Center (GFSC) on resolving pay discrepancies.  The Employee provides guidance on Workman’s Compensation claims and oversees the Official Residence Employees (OREs).

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a:

  • security certificate; or 
  • Public Trust security clearance. 

Education Requirements:

  • A Completed Two-year College Diploma is required.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in Payroll administration and Time Attendance Reporting is required.

Job Knowledge:  

  • Good knowledge of basic accounting principle, Basic conditions of employment act of South Africa, Payroll and records management is required. Knowledge of payroll software/system and data entry is required and basic understanding of local taxes.

Skills And Abilities:  

  • Must be proficient in the use of all office equipment, knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Excel with utmost accuracy and attention to detail is required.  Good typing/keyboarding skills.  Ability to analyze data, ability to deal with customers courteously, timely and effectively. Ability to prepare spreadsheets and perform numerical calculations. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
