Requirements
- Be in possession of a qualification that is the equivalent of an Honours in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Stakeholder Engagement
- 8 years experience in corporate communications or public relations environment with 5 years in a senior management position.
- Must exhibit a demonstrable ability to translate strategy into action.
- Must exhibit a demonstrable ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way.
- Legislative understanding (PFMA, NEMA, PAIA, POPI, etc.)
- In-depth comprehension of Public Relations, Media Relations, and Stakeholder Engagement Principles.
- Exposure to the communication environment in the public sector and/or state-owned entity will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of government protocols.
- Strategic planning, financial management skills, and interpersonal skills.

- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to manage and operate in a matrix environment.
Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and implement strategic communication solutions.
- Provide strategic communication support and advise.
- Design and implement event management and stakeholder relations solutions.
- Design and implement digital media solutions.
- Design and implement media management solutions.
- Design and implement internal communications solutions.
- Draft and implement required crisis communication and issue management solutions.
- Identify and produce publications targeted at both internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce and publish content that enhances SANParks’ messaging and reputation.
- Design solutions that are responsive to communications (including stakeholder engagement) performance monitoring and assessment reports
- Oversee, direct, and capacitate the Kruger National Park Communications Unit
- Establish regular reporting and monitoring systems in regard to all areas of responsibility.
- Identify, conceptualise, and provide communication capacitation support and training for key, identified strategic managers.
- Build and maintain relations with stakeholders (internal and external)
- Implement sound Corporate Governance and financial management.
- Provide leadership, development, and management of Human Capital.
