ABOUT THE ROLE:
- This role is a permanent full-time position. As a specialist mine planning, you will be responsible for producing an optimized and actionable Mine plan for the operation that ensures resources, equipment and infrastructure are exploited to their maximum potential. This is achieved by methodically evaluating a range of alternative mine designs and schedules.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Produce physical schedules using relevant software for the areas to be mined on the 2 Year Plan and set up meetings to discuss those areas and implications with operational teams;
- Develop medium to short term production plans, designs, models, schedules and forecasts in conjunctions with internal customers;
- Generate production targets, drill and blast plans and monthly production forecast
- Perform quarterly forecast to accommodate any major changes to the plan;
- Monitor performance against plans and execution of Short Term Mine Plans;
- Reconciliation of production volumes on a weekly, monthly and quarterly frequency and uploads into 1SAP.
- In liaison with the Senior Surveyor, perform monthly critical checklist on the plan to ensure that it adheres to all basic mine design principles and revise accordingly if there is non-compliance;
- Develop, implement, modify and maintain models to facilitate ore planning and forecast ore grades product volumes on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
- Ensure that plans are efficiently designed to optimize economic value;
- Lead daily, weekly and monthly planning meetings to review performance, identify gaps and ensure action plans are developed to support planned outcome.

ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in mining environment of which 2 years should be in Mine Planning environment.
- Knowledge in Deswik, CAD, MicroStation or any other planning software experience
Qualifications for this role are:
- Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Mining Engineering;
- Valid Code 08/EB driver’s license
