Purpose of the Job
- Developing and implementing sales and retention strategies tailored to specific regional segments
- Ensure alignment across all channels and regional teams and define the regional implementation strategy accordingly
- Managing and leading regional sales teams, providing guidance, motivation, and support
- Analyzing sales performance metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and team performance across regions
- Drive the growth of profitable revenue and market share across all regions through the acquisition of profitable customers in targeted channels and customer segments
- Conducting market research to identify new opportunities, trends, and competitive landscapes within the regions
- Overseeing the sales budget for the regions, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost management
- Working closely with channel distribution, marketing, product development, CVM, finance and customer service teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives
- Ensure that regions achieve their sales and revenue acquisition targets on a consistent basis, and in line with defined regional budgets by setting region specific KPI’s and performance targets
- To build an effective and high-performing regional organisation with the ability to develop strong partnerships with local partners, clients across the various consumer categories
- Ensure that all regions provide operational support to all Cell C branded stores, catering for the needs of both franchise and company owned stores
- Providing regular reports to senior management on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities, and communicating updates to the sales teams
- Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders in regional Government and community structures
Main Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
- Lead and coach regional teams to execute effective sales strategies and tactics
- Develop a functional business plan for all regions, aligned to the overall Corporate Strategy and strategic sales priorities
- To lead and execute activities of various functional areas within the regions, having overall responsibility of implementing and maintaining policies and procedures within the regional operations
- Oversee the performance and the delivery required with Managed Service Vendors in order to provide the agreed scope and agreements
- Manage the relationship with Managed Service vendors and other suppliers within the region
- Liaise with external partners, sub-contractors and local authorities, public / private sector within the region as needed
- Monitor and manage service level agreements across all the regions
Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Execute sales and marketing strategies through acquisition of profitable customers in the relevant target channels and the development of strategic channel partnerships within the regions
- Drive sales within the region to achieve strong market penetration
- Identify Sales and Marketing opportunities and implement sales and marketing activities in the regions
- Lead and develop sales by actively exploring and analysing potential new market opportunities
- Responsible to maintain a high level of effective relationships with customers by nurturing relations
Forecast, Cost and Budget Control
- Forecast future OPEX and CAPEX expenses for the regions
- Manage the yearly OPEX and CAPEX for all regions
- Monitor cost tracking, reconciliation and variation reports
- Ensure budget cost saving practices and propose recommendations for budget-affecting change requests
- Oversee OPEX costs from vendors and suppliers
Staff Management
- Ensure a competent regional management structure
- Ensure an appropriate commission structure to drive sales
- Lead, manage; assign and direct the work of direct reports and regional teams
- Oversee the development of direct reports and identify their training and development needs
- Establish, evaluate and guide the department’s Performance Management programme
- Provide an advisory, support and mentorship function
- Initiate the appropriate Labour Relation action when required
- Ensure compliance with all company policies including HR policies and procedures in the regions
Perform any other related duties as requested by Management
Qualifications
- National Diploma is required as a minimum
- A qualification in Business Management will be highly advantageous
Required Skills
- 10+ years’ experience in General Management with relevant experience in managing regions and/or Opco’s
- 5+ years of Senior Leadership managing large cross-divisional teams
- Track record in delivering sales growth
- Experience in the Telecommunication industry will be highly advantageous
- Project management skills to execute multiple operational projects
