Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Assist with day-to-day site management, ensuring work is progressing as per the schedule.
  • Collaborate with senior project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery to the site.

Site Supervision

  • Monitor work done on-site and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Track the performance of subcontractors and laborers to ensure timelines are met.
  • Resolve minor on-site issues and escalate complex matters when necessary.

Scheduling and Budget Management

  • Assist with project timelines, schedules, and cost monitoring.
  • Work closely with the procurement team for cost-effective materials and resources.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality checks to ensure construction work meets design specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks or delays.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain project records, including progress reports, budgets, and schedules.
  • Submit daily/weekly site activity reports.
  • Support the senior team in managing project paperwork and contractual obligations.

Client and Stakeholder Communication

  • Assist in addressing client concerns and providing updates as required.
  • Attend regular site meetings with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Key Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • SACPCMP registration (or in progress) would be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in construction site management or a similar role.
  • Exposure to residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and project management principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and project scheduling tools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to multitask.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards on construction sites.
