Generic Requirements: 

  • Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post; 
  • Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12); 
  • proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English; 
  • Must be a SA citizen; 
  • Must have no criminal record or pending criminal/ department cases; 
  • Computer Literacy; 
  • Interpersonal, communication and Organizational Skills. 
  • Analytical, Self-Management and Problem-Solving Skills; 
  • Report Writing, presentation, development skills; 
  • Be in possession of at least a valid light driver’s license; 
  • Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification; 
  • Applicants must be willing to travel extensively; 
  • Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage 
  • Must not have visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform; 
  • Successful candidate must be willing to travel and attend courses when required. 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Honours Degree in any of the categories of Psychology (accredited by SAQA on NQF level 8). 
  • Master’s Degree or higher qualification will serve an added advantage. 
  • Must be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and must produce proof of annual paid up fees for the 2024/2025 financial year.

Inherent competencies: 

  • Experience in offering counselling, care and support services. 
  • Programme presentation and group facilitation. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills 
  • Report writing and documentation proficiency. 
  • Proficiency in Ms Office (Ms Word, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Excel and Ms Outlook). 

Core Functions: 

  • Facilitation of Assessment Centers. 
  • Team building/development initiatives. 
  • Administer Psychometric Assessments 
  • Conduct Organizational Diagnosis and team building initiatives. 
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) Team. 
  • Improve the mental well-being of members by providing psychological, emotional, and personal and work interventions. 
  • Management of projects and mental health related initiatives. 
  • Marketing of Psychological Services offerings. 
  • Data analysis. 
  • Management of physical resources.
