Purpose of the role
- To support the development and execution of optimised store layouts and merchandising strategies that enhance product visibility, drive sales, and improve the overall customer experience, while ensuring alignment with business goals and adherence to brand and safety standards
Main Responsibilities
- Collect, Analyze, and Formalize Information
- Gather data from various teams (market, supply, stores, and suppliers) to inform the development of merchandising content and strategies.
- Develop and Update Merchandising Content
- Create and regularly update planograms, showroom layouts, and supporting materials, ensuring that merchandising aligns with business objectives, brand principles, and safety regulations.
- Distribute Merchandising Content::
- Efficiently distribute all merchandising materials and guidelines to relevant stakeholders, ensuring smooth and consistent implementation across stores.
- Collaborate and Innovate:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including supply, web, and stores, to continuously refine and improve merchandising strategies. Challenge existing methods and contribute to the growth and innovation of the team.
- Assist senior Micro Space Planners with designing store layouts and displays that enhance product visibility and maximize space utilization.
- Use merchandising software to create and update planograms, while identifying areas for improvement in product placement and customer flow.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to drive recommendations for enhancing store performance.
- Ensure that all store displays adhere to company safety standards and brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across locations.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in merchandising, retail management, design, business, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Some experience in retail sales or procurement with a focus on merchandising techniques, preferably through internships, projects, or entry-level positions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in merchandising software (e.g., Blue Yonder (JDA), Spaceman, or similar tools) is highly desirable.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Visual Merchandising Knowledge: Understanding of visual identity guidelines, branding principles, and merchandising best practices.
- Market Awareness: Strong awareness of market trends, challenges, and opportunities in retail environments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for effective collaboration across teams.
