Key Performance Areas:
- Liaise with suppliers and request quotations.
- Assist with the selection of appropriate suppliers, contractors and/or consultants, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards, legislative and policy requirements.
- Procure goods and services in accordance with the Supply Chain Management policies and National Treasury prescripts, Public Finance Management Act, Preferential Procurement Regulations, and other public procurement regulations.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure that they are approved before being issued.
- Assist with tender specification and evaluation processes.
- Liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient running of the operation and delivery of key business objectives.
- Proactively communicate any issues that arise relating to procurement processes.
- Build strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update the registers applicable to the Supply Chain Management department namely, contract and deviation registers.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of working experience in procurement space.
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes, policies, procedures, practices, and legislation.
- Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
