Job Purpose    

• The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent and suitably qualified individual to present practical and theoretical classes/courses to students and other role players in agriculture. 

Minimum Requirements    

• An appropriate 4-year BSc degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Agriculture Economics or Agribususiness; A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience in Agricultural Business Management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Recommendation    

• AgriSETA Assessor and Moderation accreditation; Working knowledge and experience in training in Plant and Animal production. 

Key Performance Areas    

• Prepare lesson plans and present practical, theoretical and/or short courses; Renewal and development of course material and study guides; Assessment of students through compilation of question papers and memorandums for examination; Administrative responsibilities; Keep abreast of applicable prescripts, policies, procedures, technologies and new developments in the subject field.

Competencies    

• Good knowledge of the subject field and proven knowledge of Agribusiness Economics or Agribusiness management. Skills needed: Communication (written and verbal); Computer literacy; Leadership, Planning and Organising; Formal training and presentation.
