Key Responsibility Areas

• Manages the Metro Headquarters command, Operational command.
• Formats strategic directives for the command in conjunction with the Head (Metro Police) through specialist input.
• Determines the short, medium- and long-term goals, objectives, action plans, operating standards, performance targets of the command.
• Responsible for the overall Training and Development function including, but not limited to Research and Planning of such functions.
• Responsible for the overall public relations function, logistic functions, specialist technical functions.
• Attends to complaints from the public, other departments, institutions / organisations which cannot be resolved at a lower level of command.
• Controls and directs overall capital and operating budgets for the Metro Headquarters and Operational commands.
• Controls and directs all departmental assets in the command.
• Supervision and control of subordinate staff.

Essential Requirements

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Policing or related equivalent qualification.
• Registered as a Traffic Officer.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• Firearm Competency.
• 8 years relevant experience of which 3 must be at the level of a Colonel.
• Computer Literacy.
