  • Analyse and interpret hydrological data to support surface water management plans.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate possible water contamination impacts on the environment including the following:
  • Simulate and predict water quality/salt loads (using the contaminant transport module) within the mine system given initial conditions over the life of mine and post-closure.
  • Conduct geochemical analysis involving aqueous geochemical speciation to estimate occurrence of acid mine drainage within mining environments.
  • Conduct mixing or dilution models of different water sources for specific mining processes.
  • Conduct local or regional scenario analysis to evaluate water supply reliability and operational risks.
  • Provide technical expertise in surface water management, hydrology, and water resources planning.
  • Collaborate with environmental engineers, hydrogeologists, and mine planners to integrate water balance models into broader project frameworks.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international water management regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of water monitoring programs and data collection strategies.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on modelling techniques and best practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in GoldSim software and a solid understanding of probabilistic modelling techniques.
  • Knowledge of hydrology, surface water systems, and water resource management.
  • Familiarity with mining operations, tailings management, and water treatment processes.
  • Competence in data analysis, GIS software, and other hydrological tools is an asset.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
