Job Purpose
Deliver investment advice; performance and service relative to applicable benchmarks through the application of research generated ideas to private client portfolios with the aim of delivering investment objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the Investment Strategy Committee meeting- put forward investment views with regard to asset allocation and buying / selling shares and other financial instruments for discussion and debate
- Apply decisions taken at Investment Strategy Committee to individual client portfolios where applicable by transacting on them.
- Ongoing review of client portfolios through checking relative to investment objectives and relevant benchmarks
- Provide considered changes to client portfolios within the framework of clients’ needs and objectives through transacting in financial instruments.
- Ensure that all considered changes are in accordance with the house view through execution in order to achieve investment outcomes in line with mandate objectives.
- Support wealth managers by presenting to clients on the status of their portfolio and other investment related items
- Build professional relationships through participating in client/ Bank functions.
- Resolve investment issues raised by the client by examining their concerns providing feedback
- Participate in creating a culture of idea generation, continuous learning and shared knowledge.
- Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from leadership.
People Specification
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or currently studying therein.
- CA(SA)
- Honours or higher degree in Finance
Essential Certifications
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Preferred Certifications
Minimum Experience Level
- 2-5 years in a similar environment
