MISA, is the only registered Trade Union which exclusively organises employees in the retail motor industry in South Africa. MISA was formed after the merger of the Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) and the SA Motor Union (SAMU). Together, these two Organisations have a proud history of 140 ye… read morears in the Retail Motor Industry. The registered name of MISA is Û÷The Motor Industry Staff AssociationÛª and the Union is known in the industry as MISA.
Even though MISAÛªs registration with the Department of Labour allows the Union to enrol all employees working in the retail motor sector, we concentrate on office, stores, sales, clerical, apprentices, qualified journeymen and grade five and six employees, as defined in the Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO).
MISA prides itself on the level of service and benefits offered to members at a reasonable contribution. The staff are dedicated to promote the interests of members as well as the Union, on all levels of participation in the working environment within South Africa.
Members enjoy the focused approach of a well-versed negotiating team representing membersÛª interests in the collective bargaining process on wages and conditions of employment at the Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO).
Qualified labour law practitioners provide free and expert legal advice and, where appropriate, the necessary legal defence to members in the resolution of labour disputes. The problem-solving approach is a major contributing factor in the resolution of disputes in the workplace.
