Detailed description

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the people strategy across all departments of the Bank and will be responsible for the overall leadership of the HRD. They will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the HRD.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with the Bank’s objectives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on all HR matters.
  • Ensure the bank’s HR policies are in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to build a strong workforce.
  • Oversee the development of leadership and succession planning programs for critical roles.
  • Ensure the implementation of employee value proposition initiatives to attract and retain talent.
  • Oversee the development of strategic workforce planning to ensure the right talent is available for future needs.
  • Drive a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability across the bank.
  • Ensure change management programs are implemented to support organizational transformation.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives through the appropriate structures.
  • Foster employee engagement through structured feedback mechanisms and action plans.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of fair and competitive remuneration structures aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Oversee performance management systems to ensure a performance driven culture across the Bank.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, banking regulations, and all governance standards.
  • Oversee the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures in line relevant HR standards.
  • Oversee employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee HR audits and ensure data protection compliance in HR systems.
  • Oversee training initiatives related to leadership, digital banking, and regulatory updates.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure quarterly and annual reporting to the relevant structures.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports, promote and support career management and development within the department. 

Qualifications

Job requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • a minimum of a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences and related fields or equivalent qualification.
  • 10 to 15 years’ progressive experience in human resources management and development, with a minimum of 5 years at senior management level.
  • Experience in executive leadership and policy formulation.
