Job Description

  • To maintain and develop existing Aviation and Specialties Products customer relationships, ensuring sales growth and profitability of customers by actively managing and expanding existing customer accounts through upselling and cross selling. Selling and negotiations skills are critical in growing the business
  •  Plan customer calls and visits to provide appropriate level of service to existing and new customer with a focus on retaining/expanding existing business relationship. Prepare calls using the Astron Energy sales way.
  •  Prospect for new business opportunities independently with prospective and existing customers within the Aviation and  Specialties segment using CRM tool (HubSpot).
  •  Monitor and manage credit and contract metrics.
  •  Monitor and achieve individual sales targets (e.g. margin, growth, named customer CVP, and trade debtor targets)
  •  Develop, update, maintain and share Key Account Plans with relevant stakeholders.
  •  Be accountable for own development plan to continuously improve competencies.

Key Activities

  •  For new and existing customers, define and regularly review relevant customer relationship behavioural and differentiated service banding and their sales plan.
  •  Review & plan customer business, contracts, prices, credit terms, credit limit and debt.
  •  Carry out negotiations with customers, preparing quotations and proposal and agree on all operational requirements (including: price, contract, payment terms and services)
  •  Ensure all internal service providers carry out tasks within the agreed terms.
  •  Ensure that all customers interaction activities are properly logged and updated in the appropriate CRM (HubSpot)
  •  Propose and sell marketing initiatives to new and existing customers against set targets as defined with marketing team.
  •  Work with other Astron Energy teams and third parties (e.g. Refinery, Logistics, Supply Chain, Credit, Legal, STL, NSM) where necessary to provide an efficient and cost effective service to the customer.
  •  Accelerate bottom-line improvement through effective profit & loss management.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Snr Certificate and a Commercial Post-Graduate Degree or Diploma
  • 3-5 years+ of a demonstrated track record of experience in the following:
  • Selling and negotiating
  • Customer relationship management
  • Business acumen including knowledge of business sectors, current market, and industry status
  • Creative and critical problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient time management and planning abilities
  • Collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of the Oil Industry, its products and services
  • Basic understanding of SAP systems is desirable
