Job Advert Summary    

• An opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to handle all accounting responsibilities such as financial policies, fixed assets activities. Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex accounting activities e.g. debtors, reconciliation of accounts and creditors, relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger. 

Minimum Requirements    

•  BCom Degree in Accounting completed Articles 
•  Up to 3 years’ experience 
•  Must have extensive experience in financial management. 
•  Experience in Fixed Assets
•  Experience in the logistics field. 
•  Good communication skills. 
•  Good presentation skills. 
•  People management 
•  Self-starter, deadline driven and reliable 
•  Be able to work in a team environment 
•  Can work under pressure 
•  Accurate and meticulous 
•  Ability to problem solve 
•  Must be willing to travel

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ensure all fixed assets transaction are reordered accurately and timeously for acquisitions, disposals, according to specified
• procedures and approval framework.
• Ensure that all fixed assets related queries are effectively resolved.
• Ensure that all the relevant general ledger accounts are reconciled, and exception are investigated
• Assist with preparation of timeous monthly management accounts
• Assist with timeous year-end and interim results
• Assist with completion of annual financial statements
• Assist in review of work performed by junior team members
• Ensure compliance with external audit requirements
• Ensure compliance with appropriate IFRS standards
• Liaise with external and internal auditors
• Assist with preparing and presenting quarterly pack
• Ad hoc accounting and finance matter
