Accounting Clerk: Financial Accounting (2 Posts Available), Ref No. DEDAT 19/2025 needed at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose    

• The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) competent individuals torender financial support services within the department. 

Minimum Requirements    

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification). 

Recommendation    

• An appropriate tertiary qualification or in the process of completion in Accounting / Financial Management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance Areas    

• Render financial accounting transactions; Perform salary administration support services; Bookkeeping and admin support services.

Competencies    

• A good understanding of the following: Financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collate financial statements; Public Service financial legislations, procedures and Treasury Regulations (PFMA, DORA, NTR,PTR,); Financial operating systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS); Communication; Interpersonal relations; Flexibility; Teamwork; Accuracy; Aptitude of figures; Computer operating skills; Planning and organisation; Language; Good verbal and written communication skills; Basic Numeracy skills; Ability to perform routine tasks; Ability to operate office equipment.
