Key Responsibilities
- This is a challenging and rewarding role for an actuarial science graduate with a passion for numbers and a knack for uncovering insights from complex data. The successful candidate will be expected to support developing reports and extracts from existing and new systems to support operational reporting, experience analysis and valuation requirements.
The role also includes:
- Deep diving into vast datasets, using your analytical skills to create comprehensive operational reports that inform our claims, underwriting and administration processes.
- Work closely with various departments to understand their reporting and data needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance our operational efficiency.
- Ensure reporting, valuation and experience extracts remain consistent as data is moved to new systems, and where not consistent, tracking down and resolving any differences.
- Supporting migration efforts from old to new systems as well as supporting data ingestion processes to ensure good quality data is uploaded into our systems.
- Utilize tools like R and Power BI to develop and maintain sophisticated reports that provide clear and actionable insights for our team.
- This is not only a South African role, and responsibilities includes supporting business in Australia, United Kingdom and Canada. It also means working with colleagues from other countries.
Qualifications & Experience
- We are looking for top applicants that are recent actuarial science graduates with good progress with their foundation and intermediate technical subjects. Applicants with a specific interest in data, reporting and analytics will be preferred. Experience with coding will be beneficial.

- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team, deal with people at all levels and in all areas of the business.
- A problem-solving mindset with an innovative approach to tackling complex data challenges and delivering practical solutions.
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written skills and the ability to summarise and explain complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience with R, SQL, or other programming languages, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
