About the Role
This role provides critical oversight of high-RPM patient data and manages the technical compliance of admissions and billing within the public health sector. Utilizing specialized healthcare data platforms and ServiceNow for incident tracking, the officer ensures 100% compliance with national health regulations and financial policies. Their work reduces operational risk by ensuring accurate revenue collection and leveraging data to optimize hospital resource allocation.
- Appropriate experience in a Hospital environment.
- Good interpersonal and Labour relations abilities. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel). Knowledge of Budgeting. Good management skills. Sound knowledge of Hospital Fees Regulations and Procedures, HIS (Clinicom/AR)and BAS, UPFS, PMFA and Treasury Instructions.
- Manage and supervise a 24-hour unit, Wards or Clinics with a large component of patient admin clerks. Management of clinicom, billing (AR), JAC, ICD10 coding, Hectis and other fees related systems in line with revenue generation projects.
- Manage HR, Labour issues including disciplinary processes wrt staff and submit monthly reports and statistics. Manage and ensure the cash collection and handover processes are followed effectively. Ensure accurate classification of patients and management of all administration duties
- No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Shortlisted candidates my be required to attend a practical test. The pool of applications will be considered for vacancies within Groote Schuur Hospital, for a period of three months from the date of the advert, provided that the job title, core functions, inherent requirements, and salary level are the same as those of the advertised post.
- Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.
- R 325 101- R 382 959 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
