This role provides strategic oversight of high-RPM support service data, managing the technical reliability of non-clinical hospital operations. Utilizing ServiceNow for incident management and Workday for employee lifecycle tracking, the officer ensures 100% compliance with facility management and health standards. Their work mitigates operational risk by ensuring that hospital infrastructure is optimized for patient care and leveraging data to drive institutional efficiency.

  • A valid (code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to do standby and work overtime.
  • Appropriate supervisory experience. Appropriate experience in healthcare support services.
  • Computer literacy and thorough knowledge of computer systems (MS Office, Logis). Good organizational and administrative skills. Good decision making and conflict management skills. Working knowledge of support services management. Ability to extract, analyse and compile reports from systems.
  • No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical test. The pool of applicants will be considered for vacancies within Worcester Regional Hospital for a period of 3 months from date of advert, provided that the job title, core functions, inherent requirements, and salary level are the same as those of the advertised post.
  • Senior Certificate or equivalent.
  • Supervise and maintain acceptable standards of quality of services delivered by the Support Services components (Transport, Registry, Switchboard, Porters, Residence and Recreational areas).
  • Efficient and cost effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of monthly expenditures against allocated budget. Supervise support staff, manage leave and performance, and ensure compliance with HR policies and disciplinary procedures. Effective and efficient support within Support Services.
  • Effective and efficient administration of the services. Ensure relevant policy implementation and compliance (Occupational Health & Safety, Ideal Hospital Framework, National Core Standards, etc) at the Hospital.
  • R 325 101 – R 382 959 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

A degree in Business Management, Public Administration, or Facilities Management is required for this career path.
