Agricultural Advisor- Food Security needed at Gauteng Provincial Government

Requirements :

• Grade 12 plus a 3-year bachelor’s degree/B Tech degree in Agriculture/Extension /Crop (NQF level 7) as recognized by SAQA.
• Must be registered with SACNASP or relevant professional body
• .0- 2 years’ experience in Agricultural Extension is required. Must be in possession of a valid drivers’ licence.

Duties :

• Contribute to the implementation of the food security programmes of GDARD. Provide training and extension and advisory services to food security project beneficiaries. Facilitate and coordinate with other stakeholders in the implementation of food security projects.
• Perform any other activity relevant to the project, as assigned by the supervisor/manager. Conduct educational programmes that provide farmers or farm cooperative members with information that can help them improve agricultural productivity. Present/organize farmers days conduct information sessions.
• Constant farm visits for impact assessment. Source inputs from specialists as required. Provide scientific and technical inputs as required by departmental staff.
