An opportunity has become available at our Head Office (Cape Town) within Old Khaki for a Merchandise Allocator specifically in the Old Khaki Mens Apparel Department.

Our ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, logical reasoning and numerical abilities. The successful candidate will have the ability to align with the company vision, be self-motivated and actively involved in the planning process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels, resilience and confidence required for this fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic retail environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement the Allocation strategy according to store turnover and profile
  • Ensure allocations are done effectively based on trade and store performance
  • Analytical support and feedback to influence the Planning and Buying teams
  • Store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis
  • Reporting and recommendations regarding store performance – this role plays a crucial link between stores and the merchandise team
  • Replenishment management
  • Monitoring product performance to take appropriate action
  • Regular store visits where appropriate
  • Liaising effectively with stores, suppliers, customers, shipping, and marketing

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required

  • 1-2 years experience as a Allocator/ Store Planner within a retail environment
  • Matric & Graduate qualification in a related field
  • Microsoft Office proficiency with advanced Excel
  • Reporting systems
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Planning would be beneficial
  • A high degree of numeracy and a detailed and strategic approach to work
