- Ad-libbing to live visuals during breaking stories
Interviewing / Presenting
- Reading bulletins to acceptable broadcast standards.
- Liase with news producers to get a run down on planned interviews and live crossings.
- Moving between hard news and lighter news on social media
- Conducting live and pre-recorded interviews
- Forming and expressing opinions based on fact
- Engaging with the e.tv news audience and newsmakers.
- Adlibing rolling news.
- Ensuring smooth flow of bulletin.
- Presenting live shows in the field.
- Adhering to on air style guide.
Social Media
- Promoting shows and live news events, in accordance to the organisation’s social media policies.
- Promoting viewer engagement via social media
- Reflecting the comments streaming in to the show
- Keeping abreast of topics that are trending
- Promoting the brand on social media in a positive way that drives viewers
Requirements
- A Degree in Journalism
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role
