Description
Main Purpose:
- The Apprenticeship programme is a well-known technical training system, including practical and theoretical components offered in designated trades to achieve artisan status.
Key Performance Areas:
- The apprenticeship spans over a minimum period of 36 months.
- The candidates will have to complete the prescribed merSETA modules (Theoretical and Practical) and gain job experience during the period to qualify for a trade test.
- The candidates will have to pass the applicable trade test to qualify as an Artisan before the end of the apprenticeship period.
- At the end of the apprenticeship and successful completion of the Trade test the candidate will have a formal qualification equivalent to NQF level 4 as a Qualified Artisan in Boilermaking or Welding.
- Complete various tasks/assignments as allocated by the Mentor/Training Officer.
- Provide practical support to production/site as and when required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics (Not Mathematics Literacy) and Physical Science/N2.
- N2 with subjects relevant to the trades (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Platers Theory and Platers Drawings) would be advantageous.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Clear criminal record.
- 35 years of age or younger.
- Proof of residence (municipality account).
- No accommodation or transport will be provided and therefore successful candidates will have to be willing to relocate to Bethal or the surrounding areas if they do not already live locally.
- Candidates applying for the positions must reside within a 50 km radius of Kriel Power Station in Mpumalanga.
