About the Role

• The Artisan Assistant will assist the Electrician or Maintenance Technician with daily maintenance, repairs, and general technical support duties. This position requires practical problem-solving skills, technical ability, and a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Requirement

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
• Strong mechanical and electrical experience is essential
• Proven troubleshooting ability
• Valid trade certificate will be advantageous
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment will be an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist artisans with electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations.
• Perform basic electrical tasks using hand tools (e.g., grinder, drill, test meters) under supervision.
• Support fabrication, fitting, and assembly of mechanical parts and components.
• Clean and maintain cables, tools, and equipment during daily maintenance routines.
• Comply with all health and safety standards and site procedures.
• Deliver a high-quality standard of work, maintaining neatness and accuracy.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe at all times.
• Show a willingness to undergo training and development toward qualification or trade advancement.
