Artisan Boilermaker – Mamatwan Mine needed at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• This role is a permanent full-time position.
• As an Artisan Boilermaker, you will be responsible for responsible for timely install, repair, fabricate and maintenance plant equipment and structures in a safe manner to ensure the process plant is operated safely as well as operate equipment and tests all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, interpretation of hydraulic diagrams, planned and predictive maintenance;
• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on equipment;
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
• Maintains a clean and safe worksite;
• Ensure the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment.

ABOUT YOU:

• You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Qualified Artisan in a mining environment;
• Knowledge and experience on bucket and GET;
• Includes experience on fabricate and maintenance;
• Repair structural frames by development and fabricate from complex drawings;
• Mark off basic regular engineering shapes;
• Oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting/ gauging.

Qualifications for this role are:

• N2 Technical Certificate;
• Welder / Plater / Boilermaker Trade Test;
• Grade 12;
• Valid drivers license.
