Artisan (Bricklayer / Plumber)(Level Ii) needed at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas

• Carries out maintenance on sewerage drainage systems.
• Repairs damaged manholes/pipes and builds new brick or precast ring manholes were required.
• Ensures that work site is securely barricaded and made safe for road or pedestrian traffic.
• Carries out shoring of deep trenches according to departmental standards.
• Completing job costing/work schedule records for work undertaken.
• Prepares schedules of materials required from stores for each job and being responsible for the correct use of all such materials.
• Supervises and controls a team of General Workers and issuing job instructions.
• Transports staff/equipment and materials to and from work sites in a responsible manner.

Essential Requirements

• Trade Tested Artisan (Bricklayer or Plumber).
• Valid Basic First Aid and Basic Safety certificate or to be completed within 6-12 months from date of appointment.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• 3 Years relevant post qualification experience.

Preferred Requirements

• 4 years relevant post qualification experience.
