About the job
- An exciting opportunity exists with our global mining client for an experienced Artisan Electrician in Limpopo. The successful candidate needs to be able to install, repair and maintain power, lighting, communications, and control systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- NQF 4 Relevant Trade Certificate
- First Aid Certificate is advantageous
- Fire Fighting course is advantageous
- Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s license
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment
- Solid experience of power system protection is essential
- Experience in switching LV, MV and HV systems is essential
Key Performance Areas:
- Be a Safety Leader. Raise awareness and ensure all safe work practices are observed and implemented.
- Compliance and application of Sect 22 and 23 of the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Perform general electrical maintenance.
- Electrical faults findings.
- Wiring of communication system.
- Manual rolling up of the cables.
- Maintaining transformer and motor control panel.
- Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
- Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
- Perform circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems
