Artisan (Engineering) needed at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Electrical Trade Certificate (Engineering Electrician)
• 1-2 Years’ experience
• Minimum Code B driver’s license.
• Various areas included Protection, Tele communication and SCADA, Metering, Revenue Protection etc.
• Low Voltage (LV) Electrician working on overhead lines with a minimum Code C1 driver’s license is required
• Medium Voltage (MV)- knowledge of MV switchgear.
• High Voltage Circuits (HV) – 1-2 years’ experience working HV overhead lines and/or underground cables.
• The Occupational Certificate: Electrical Line Mechanic: Overhead Lines qualification will be considered for HV Overhead Lines section.
• HV Substations: 1 year experience in an HV Substations environment and or 2 years’ experience in an MV substations environment.
• Work experience as a responsible person in terms of ORHVS will be an advantage.
• Working on High Voltage overhead lines and a Code EC 1 driver’s license is preferred in the HV field
• Required to work in all weather conditions, and in confined areas
• Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime and standby

Preference will be based on:

• Candidates relevant experience
• candidates who qualified at the City of Cape Town Electricity Training Centre or are currently employed within the City of Cape Town
