Job Summary
- As the Assistant General Manager, you will partner closely with the General Manager to oversee Food & Beverage and Rooms Operations. You’ll play a key role in driving guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and the successful execution of property‑wide brand strategies. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll balance operational excellence with strategic vision.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or related field plus 3 years’ experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales & marketing, or operations.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or related field plus 1 year’s experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales & marketing, or operations.
Core Responsibilities
Food & Beverage & Rooms Operations
- Lead quarterly audits to ensure budgets and standards are met; implement corrective actions where needed.
- Coordinate all Food & Beverage functions and communication across outlets.
- Partner with the GM to monitor Rooms Operations performance and drive improvements.
Property Operations & Budgets
- Conduct regular walk‑throughs to ensure facilities are well maintained and guest areas exceed expectations.
- Motivate teams to achieve operational excellence while maintaining profit margins.
- Ensure the property remains a safe and secure environment for guests and associates.
Guest Experience
- Champion a culture of service excellence by modeling desired behaviors and hosting daily stand‑ups.
- Monitor guest satisfaction data, identify improvement opportunities, and act decisively.
- Build strong relationships with group and convention clients, setting and managing expectations.
Sales & Marketing Support
- Strengthen community and civic relationships to enhance brand awareness.
- Partner with sales teams on calls, events, and site visits to drive business.
- Provide insights on competitive products, pricing, and services.
Human Resources & Leadership
- Ensure management coverage during peak times.
- Recruit and develop department managers with strong expertise and entrepreneurial leadership.
- Set clear goals, coach performance, and celebrate team successes.
- Maintain open, collaborative relationships across the leadership team.
- Support emergency procedure planning and compliance with management contract requirements.
