Main Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate operations regarding quality assurance of school-based assessment, marking, the appointment of markers, and standardisation of marking guidelines of public and private assessment bodies, and to promote quality in the sector.
  • Draw up and oversee implementation of the annual sub-unit plan, and budget, and report on expenditure and progress.
  • Support the work of the Assessment Standards Committee of Council.
  • Monitor and enforce the implementation of Quality Assurance of Assessment (QAA) policies, examination policies, and regulations by assessment bodies.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage sub-unit operations and 

Requirements: 

  • An honours degree in education with a strong background in quality assurance of assessment
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the education sector with 5 years managerial experience
  • Current registration with the South African Council for Educators
