Job description

We are seeking an Assistant Manager, reporting ?to an Associate Director within the Hedge Division of Sanne, to develop and manage investor registers for funds administered by Sanne Group, as well as other investor registers for third-party funds. This includes being responsible for ensuring that all client relationships are managed in line with agreed service levels and that services and delivery is of the high standard expected by clients and Sanne Group. The incumbent must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work assignments, communicate effectively with internal staff and clients. Follow-through skills, supervisory and time management are critical elements of this position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify the training and development needs of his/her team;
  • Mentor team members;
  • Ensure service levels are maintained;
  • Liaise with clients and assist with any queries from Fund Accounting, investors or fund managers;
  • Planning and controlling team workload and workflow;
  • Provide informal, on-the-job training for team members;
  • Liaise with other operational departments in respect of issues affecting the output of the Assistant Managers team;
  • Ensure that Investor Services procedures are correctly followed by the team under their supervision;
  • Ensure that all transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of South Africa and Sanne AML requirements to ensure these are being adhered to with the support of compliance and senior management;
  • Support the team by liaising with Clients and Investors to collate the requisite KYC documents;
  • Review AML documents submitted by the team;
  • Review and provide process input into the tax year end reporting across Clients;
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed and checklists completed in a timely manner;
  • Promote a risk management culture within the business by proactively highlighting areas where improvements can be made to reduce operation risk
  • Resolve client queries timeously;
  • Suggest and implement Investor Services procedures and process improvements;
  • Conduct mandatory performance appraisals on team members and ad-hoc reviews.
  • Review and test annual and bi-annual SARS reporting
  • Understand tax reporting within Hedge Funds.

Requirements

Skills / Experience Required:

The successful candidate must have:

  • BCom or related degree
  • In depth experience dealing with external parties such as fund managers, administrators, auditors and investors;
  • Proven Supervisory experience;
  • 5+ years experience
  • Good knowledge of Investor Services processes;
  • Necessary management and interpersonal skills to manage a team of administrators;
  • Thorough knowledge of the different accounting methodologies used in the administration process;
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in order to authorise transactions and check month-end statements and fund apportionments;
  • Ensure a high level of quality in the output of the Investor Services function;
  • A high level of problem-solving skills and
  • Exceptional communication skills.
