BIM Technician – Westville, KZN needed at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• Hire Resolve’s client, a leading multi‑disciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong footprint across South Africa and projects across Africa and the Middle East, is currently seeking a Electrical Revit Draughting / BIM Technician to join its KwaZulu‑Natal team.

Responsibilities

• Produce and co‑ordinate detailed electrical drawings and 3‑D BIM models in Revit for building‑services projects
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, other discipline modellers and external design teams to ensure clash‑free, fully co‑ordinated models
• Manage model version control, family creation and template standards in line with ISO 19650/BIM Level 2 protocols
• Generate drawing registers, schedules and quantity take‑offs directly from the model
• Participate in design reviews, resolve model issues, and support site teams with up‑to‑date installation drawings
• Mentor junior draughtspersons, sharing best practice in Revit and BIM workflows

Requirements

• National Diploma (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Draughting Technology or equivalent
• 5 + years hands‑on Revit MEP modelling experience, specifically on electrical building‑services projects
• Proven track record of delivering BIM Level 2 projects and working to BS 1192 / ISO 19650 standards
• Sound knowledge of SANS and IEC electrical codes and symbols
• Ability to interpret engineers’ designs and transform them into accurate 3‑D co‑ordinated models
• Advantageous: Navisworks clash detection, Dynamo scripting, and experience with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms
