Biolermakers needed at Sea Harvest Corporation Ltd

JOB PURPOSE:

• To operate appropriate equipment and to ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted within the quality, health and safety requirements of the company

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layouts and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. Cut Material with power saws, gas cutting equipment to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calibers, rules etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Report all dangerous or unsafe behavior to supervisor or manager

REQUIREMENTS: SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Grade 12 or recognized equivalent qualification
• Relevant trade test certification – Boilermaker/Welder
• 3-5 years’ experience in marine environment
• Experienced in using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools
• Be prepared to work overtime and adhere to all company safety rules and policies 
• Able to be a strong team player and have the passion to learn new things
• Must be able to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings
• Ability to work at heights and in confided spaces 
• Pay attention to detail
• Medically fit of sober habits and no criminal record
