  • The primary role of the broker support administrator is responsibility for assisting in producing and/or providing quality checks in respect of documentation and transactional activities required to support the placement of business and the day-to-day administrative support to the head of the division and/or brokers.

What the day will look like

  • Produce final reinsurance documentation to confirm coverage to clients.
  • Collect and analyses relevant information and prepare market submissions as well as presentations for new business and/ or renewals.
  • Draft renewal proposals.
  • Obtain quotations for cover from the market.
  • Accompany the Brokers to client visits when required.
  • Assist in tender processes and preparation for potential new clients – this includes doing research to understand clients’ needs and portfolio.
  • Do amendments on contract wordings, issue endorsements, send cover slips to Reinsurers and issue cover notes to Clients.
  • Take ownership and initiative in resolving queries and problems efficiently.
  • Prepare and update performance statistics quarterly or as required.
  • Process clients’ contracts and documentation on GRiDS system.
  • Liaise with internal teams to follow up on invoicing, premium payments, allocation of cash, analysis of client portfolios etc.
  • Get involved in claims queries when necessary.
  • Submit contract documentation directly to clients and make necessary follow ups on outstanding documentation.
  • Appropriate record keeping.
  • Review and check reinsurance documentation to ensure that it satisfies client requirements and other regulatory standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and reinsurers.
  • Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Qualifications.

  • An appropriate NQF level 5 FAIS /short-term insurance qualification.
  • Preferably a relevant bachelor’s degree in Maths, Statistics, Quantitative Analytics, Economics, Insurance, Risk Management and the likes.
  • Be FAIS compliant for Representative, ideally including Regulatory Exam (RE5) & Commercial lines short-term insurance.
  • Being a Licentiate (LIISA) &/or Associate (AIISA) or the equivalent, will be an advantage.

Knowledge.

  • Have a sound knowledge in respect of reinsurance and insurance.

Skills and Attributes.

  • Advanced level in MS Office (Excel, Word & Power Point)
  • Proactiveness
  • Analytical skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work with and in teams.

Experience.

  • Have 2 to 5 years’ experience relevant reinsurance experiences.
