Bus Driver (M000283) Readvertisement needed at North West University

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drives NWU transportation vehicle within a prescribe route(s) in accordance with the time schedules, picking up and discharging students at designated stops.
• May operate a special ramp bus; loads and unloads students in wheelchairs on and off bus, inspecting wheelchair for operational safety; operates ramp; positions and   secures wheelchair in bus.
• Transports students, Technicians and General workers on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed.
• Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to traffic policy Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily.
• Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily and reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
• Service busses with fuel and oil and maintain regular road worthiness of the bus.
• General bus maintenance and cleanliness.
• Complete and maintain proper log-sheets for mileage.
• Maintain safety and first aid of passengers.
• Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary

Minimum requirements

• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in bus / truck driving.
• A valid Code C driver’s license with PrDP.
