Core Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Position Netwerk24 as the authoritative source for South African business news in Afrikaans by identifying developments in the business world, prioritizing coverage, and finding innovative ways to deliver articles that resonate with digital-first audiences.
• Editorial Excellence: Instruct, write, and edit engaging and accessible content covering company news, economic analysis, financial markets, and investigative business journalism.
• Team Development: Lead, mentor, motivate, and help develop a team of business journalists within a culture of collaboration, learning, and a pursuit of excellence.
• Innovation & Growth: Motivate and develop business news coverage, develop multimedia journalism, and lead projects that strengthen Netwerk24 as an authoritative player in the business journalism space.

Qualifications and experience:

• Extensive Experience: Minimum 7-10 years as a specialist journalist with significant editing and team management experience.
• Educational Foundation: Relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, economics, finance, or related field.
• Digital Expertise: Proven experience in digital-first business news environments.
• Leadership Record: Experience in managing editorial teams, developing talent, and driving organizational growth.
