- We are looking for a Case Law Manager to join a dynamic Case Law team producing high quality legal content. You will execute on core business deliverables and go-to-market initiatives while continually optimizing our processes and prioritizing our people.
- In this role, you will help lead the change management required to transition the team into a production environment using Generative AI (GAI) to produce summaries and run GAI output review. You will also play an integral role in driving employee engagement and enabling high team performance.
- This role is based in South Africa and reports into the Head of Editorial Operations for CEMEA.
Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse team responsible for case law enhancements across LexisNexis South Africa’s flagship case law products.
- Overseeing the production of caselaw products and content for multiple regions, including summaries, headnotes, and annotations.
- Developing a team to conduct caselaw enhancements across multiple regions.
- Setting and tracking productivity goals and implementing best practices for writing case law summaries.
- Providing consistent and supportive coaching sessions, midyear reviews, and annual evaluations for all direct reports.
- Ensuring content produced by the team adheres to prescribed quality, timeliness, and completeness targets.
- Improving speed-to-market for case law summaries and derivatives.
- Managing key internal and external customer queries and complaints.
Requirements
- Have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the case law landscape in Africa.
- Be process-driven with the ability to evaluate existing processes and drive continuous improvements.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate collaborative management style with the ability to lead cross-functional, team-based initiatives.
- Exhibit excellent organization/project planning, time management, change management, and delegation skills.
- Possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent academics.
- Be an admitted attorney/advocate with at least three years of PQE experience.
- Experience supporting a team through organizational transformation.
