About the Role
This executive technical role leads the design and implementation of air traffic navigation and communication infrastructure. Utilizing AWS for cloud-based aviation data and Oracle for project management, the Chief Designer ensures 100% compliance with international aviation safety standards. Their leadership is vital for mitigating operational risk in national airspace and driving technical innovation in air traffic management systems.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor Administration or equivalent tertiary qualification
- BASIC and Advanced PANS-OPS. Course required in line with ICAO requirements, having completed the 18 months mentorship.
- Training in Procedure Design aided software, preferably PFDAM
- On-the-job Instructor course
Years of Experience
- 5 Years PANS-OPS Design experience (Senior)
- 3 Years in air traffic service environment; preferably air traffic control in approach/procedural/radar control environment, or Aircrew (Pilot/Navigator: Instrument environment) operational experience.
- 2 Years OJTI experience
Career Growth & Education
A degree in Electronic Engineering or Information Technology, supplemented by extensive experience in aviation systems design, is mandatory. Career progression moves toward Chief Technology Officer or Executive Director roles within international aviation authorities. Obtaining advanced certifications in systems architecture and ethical AI through global bootcamps can unlock leadership opportunities in the aerospace and defense sectors.
