Chief Professional Nurse needed at De Beers Group

Job Description:

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Perform daily planning of activities and tasks to ensure timeous completion of tasks ahead of deadlines.
• Planning and implementing nursing care plan according to identified needs.
• Planning and implementing of wellness campaigns 
• Planning and preparing for Internal and External Occupational Health, Trauma, DMRE and Safety and mine related audits
• Budgeting for Platmed and the mine for health and hygiene department
• Allocation of staff and work based on staff availability.
• Rand Mutual Assurance (& COIDA) accident/incident reporting and ensuring all paperwork & related administration is done.
• Compiling of weekly, monthly and annual stats for reporting to DMRE, Mine and Platmed.
• Attending safety meetings on the mine for safety and health
• Arranging for employee safety spectacles in collaboration with outsourced service provider (Optometrists)
• Follow up on Customized Hearing Protective Devices (Noise clippers) collection and ensure compliance in collaboration with Outsourced service Provider.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing Science
• B.Tech In Occupational Health
• Registered with SANC & SASHON
• Dispensing licence
• Health Services Management certificate or equivalent
• Basic Life Support

Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in similar role within mining industry

• Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role

• Risk management techniques and critical controls
• Compliance:
• Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory and permitting requirements
• Knowledge of relevant mining and labour legislation
• Rand mutual and WCA(COIDA) reporting and follow ups
