Description:

  • Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a Chief Safety Officer to join their mining operation based in Mpumalanga. As the Chief Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees and promoting a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance in all matters related to safety and health.
  • Oversee safety training programs and ensure employees are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate them into the organization’s safety programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Degree/Diploma in Safety Management
  • SAMTRAC and COMSOC 1 & 2
  • SO45001 & 14001
  • 5 years’ experience in the mining industry (Coal Preferred)
  • Valid Driver’s License
