Job Description

• The Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Design position requires a dedicated professional to contribute to complex engineering projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Execute specific and critical components of broader engineering assignments with precision and attention to detail.
• Systematically collect and analyze essential engineering data using established protocols and methodologies.
• Undertake detailed engineering tasks involving complex calculations and specialized testing procedures.
• Develop and propose innovative solutions to address novel engineering challenges.
• Conduct thorough analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies in engineering results.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to entry-level engineers, fostering their professional development.
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by adhering to agreed-upon budgets and schedules while working under moderate supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Civil Engineering or related field
• 4-8 years relevant experience post qualification
• Professionally registered with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa)
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design principles and practices
• Experience in project management and coordination
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant South African building codes and standards
• Experience with sustainable design practices
• Proficiency in MS Office suite
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
