Cleaner/Groundsman (Casual Worker) Job at Ikhala Public TVET College

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 Report/STD 8 Report. Minimum of 1 year experience in cleaning.

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of repetitive tasks, Knowledge of Safety and hygiene. Storage requirements, Reporting and supply management, Ability to read and write. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. The ability to do physical tasks, operate heavy duty cleaning and household equipment. Reading. Operating equipment. Good Communication skills. Planning and organizing. Disciplined.

DUTIES:

• Maintaining of a high level of hygiene in and around the workplace with the cleaning of the College premises assigned to, which may include either or both inner and outer parameters, performing tasks of a routine nature, such as dusting and Polishing furniture and floors, Vacuum carpets and mopping of tile floors, Empty dustbins around offices/Classrooms. Perform maintenance tasks in and around the assigned premises, clean restrooms and kitchens, follow safety guidelines including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and using PPE’s, report any maintenance needs, or repairs required in the facility to management.
