Education & Qualification

General Knowledge & Experience

  • 1 years in a supply chain environment as commercial officer
  • Exposure to data capturing and document management processes and systems
  • 1 -2 years exposure to mining across all operational divisions
  • Exposure to local supplier developments
  • Track record of effective interaction with Managers

Role Accountabilities

  • Procure material, supplies and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures, and generate Purchase Orders accordingly.
  • Expediting PO’s and ensures delivery of stock on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Analyze departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information, then investigate and develop sources of supplies (Technical screening of PR’s)
  • Getting the best prices by means of acquiring quotes from different sources of supply (RFQ process)
  • Identify and select a vendor to procure requisitioned commodities/services, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery date.
  • Assist in the collection of deliveries.
  • Support cross functional team interactions with internal stakeholders to execute purchasing activities.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers based on sound ethical business principles.
  • Provide process advice to business on transaction guidance & support (new users and refresher training)
  • Identify improvements in the execution of purchasing processes and implement accordingly.
  • Supports Commodity/Commercial team with any requirements when needed, identifies new suppliers in cooperation with relevant commodity team.
  • Liaise and actively support the Accounts Payable Department on queries on orders.
  • Assist Vendor Master Department to maintain a database of supplier information and continuously ensure that integrity and quality of data are relevant and of required standard.
  • Create new contracts OA’s (Outline Agreements) in SAP in line with approved contracts, and update & maintain existing OA amendments for existing contracts.
  • Assist the Commodity/Commercial Specialists and Managers with improving contract coverage and achieving commercial savings.
  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to expand and enrich supply chain management.
  • Maintaining high volumes of business users demands and active contracts.
