KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Sales Strategy Implmentation

  • Develop, manage, and implement the Jacaranda FM Sales Strategy in collaboration with Mediamark and other stakeholders.
  • Identify growth opportunities within the sales strategy by segmenting markets and preparing monthly sales plans.
  • Implement strategies focused on client retention, trade marketing, CRM, annual sales operations, and event sponsorships.
  • Present Jacaranda FM’s offerings to national and regional clients through tailored presentations and briefs.
  • Lead new business development by exploring new products, geographies, and client segments.
  • Manage sales targets, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while controlling costs.

 Sales and Business Development

  • Ensure profitable revenue growth through both Mediamark and regional sales teams.
  • Set and monitor team sales targets, driving increased revenue.
  • Conduct direct sales by identifying client needs, developing proposals, and managing contracts.
  • Develop a strategy for attracting new clients and expanding into new markets.
  • Lead and present pitches to key clients, advertisers, and agencies alongside sales teams.

 Relationship Building

  • Foster strong relationships with Mediamark, ensuring alignment with SLAs and revenue goals.
  • Manage client relationships to retain existing clients and grow the regional client base.
  • Launch customer satisfaction surveys to enhance value, satisfaction, and loyalty.

 Market Competition/Industry Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor activity and advise management on trends and strategies.
  • Conduct research projects to provide meaningful insights for clients.
  • Collaborate with Kagiso Media and Mediamark teams to develop audience insights and data products for advertisers.

 Risk and Compliance

  • Ensure commercial operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage commercial agreements to maximise benefits for Jacaranda FM.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to commercial activities.

 Trade Marketing

  • Drive visibility for the brand in national and local markets.
  • Lead trade marketing initiatives and keep teams informed about Jacaranda FM developments.

 Reporting

  • Monitor and report on sales strategy implementation and progress against targets.
  • Prepare detailed sales reports, including post-campaign analysis and quarterly reviews.

 Regional Sales Staff Management/Leadership

  • Oversee operations of the regional sales team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Coach and develop team members, providing mentorship and addressing development needs.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to strengthen the team and achieve strategic goals.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma/Degree in marketing/sales or similar (Marketing/Advertising/ Commercial
  • Additional Media and sales training courses preferred.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 to 8 Year Sales Experience at a Senior Management Level
  • Proven track record in a target driven media sales environment (Radio, TV, Digital etc)
  • Experience in growing non traditional radio revenue will be an advantage
  • Previous marketing experience
  • The Incumbent will be required to Travel regularly within SA
