Role Summary: 

As the Commercial Manager, you’ll be responsible for a team of Commercial Executives, ensuring effective capacity management, pricing, margin management, and sales support. You will develop and implement strategic commercial processes to achieve our business goals and drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Be Doing:

Process Governance & Development:

  • Gain an advanced understanding of capacity management, pricing, and margin delivery.
  • Ensure processes are implemented to meet margin and passenger volume targets, looking for improvements.
  • Develop team commercial skills and create briefing documents for significant proposals.
  • Report performance and commercial insights to senior management and contribute to board packs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product, and FP&A teams to align with business objectives.

Team Leadership:

  • Set ambitious but achievable goals for your team.
  • Provide honest feedback and foster a collaborative team ethos.
  • Seek feedback for continuous improvement and support professional development.

Trading Performance:

  • Quickly identify and act on key trading metrics, calling out trading risks and opportunities for marketing decisions.
  • Adapt to changing demands, spot trends, and take crucial actions to optimize trading outcomes.
  • Influence marketing decisions with your understanding of product offerings and market timing.

Planning:

  • Work with senior leadership to formulate strategic plans.
  • Communicate the strategic plan to the team and implement vital process changes.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Commercial Management: Strong background with expertise in pricing and revenue management. Experience in the travel industry is advantageous; FMCG experience considered with relevant pricing management.
  • Excel & Financial Concepts: Advanced proficiency in Excel and confidence with financial concepts.
  • Board Pack Creation: Experience in creating and presenting board packs to key partners.
  • Commercial Processes & Business Cases: Proven understanding and ability to develop business cases.
  • Leadership: Inspirational leader who supports and challenges their team, and focuses on process development with continuous improvement.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communicator who collaborates effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Proactive Decision-Making: Learns from mistakes and seeks innovative solutions.
