What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a social bond between residents of a particular community and SBA.
- Serve as a political link with local authorities and the SBA.
- Work to adequately communicate to the community about the technological benefits and advantages that can have with the implementation of a telecommunications project.
- Reduce the negative impact of the No-In-My-Backyard (NIMBY) effect on neighbors and the community.
- Optimization of the social participation process.
- Coordinate, supervise and execute informative meetings with neighbors, local authorities and the community.
- Early detection of possible community problems and solving them in the early stages of the project.
- Negotiate with neighbors and the community, in accordance with FCPA policies.
- Monitoring of community issues and actions.
- Prepare reports for the Project Manager and end clients on the progress of the activity, achievements and negotiations with the community.
- Be an additional support in the negotiation activities and / or permits, according to the requirements of the Project Management
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Aid other departments with in-person negotiations, meetings and follow ups with Ground owners.
- Negotiate & Resolve access issues to premises as may be required from time to time.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Town Planning;
- and 2+ years’ experience in the telecommunications or property industry required.
- Experience in negotiation preferred.
- Domestic Travel 50% of the time
- Valid Government Issued Driver’s License
- Proficiency in a variety of South Africa’s official languages
