As a Community Relations Manager, some of your duties will include:
- Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities
- Identify specific risks within working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/system to avoid these risks
- Implement Safety & Health systems within work area
- Co-ordinate and facilitate all DMR, DWA, DOL , DEA interaction for site inspections and evaluations
- Engage with local district community stakeholders
- Leading and initiating multi-Community forums, e.g. NDA, ARC and HSRC
- Lead the process of developing and reviewing developing annual Mine Social Plans
- Assist corporate and Operational CED teams to establish Operational Unit specific component of regional Community engagement plan
- Establish and chair the Anglo Social Way committee in each Operation
- Manage all risks and impacts in the community including all the elements of the Social Way related to risks. Ensure risks are minimised / reduced / managed. Ensure community alignment to plans to manage risk
- Detailed Community mapping and engagement management with operations management / BU and Social teams
- Manages all risks and impacts related the community / ensures Anglo Social Way / Social Way compliance / Incident management
- Anglo Social Way Assessment / Anglo Social Way compliance
- Management of Social Risk
- Ensuring systems and processes are followed / integration with the ORM systems
- Manages local Government relations related to local sites.
- Track and monitor regulatory approvals for the local operations to ensure close out and communication

- Support delivery of the relevant sustainability activities on a Business Unit level
- Input into AAP Business Unit-level cross-functional integration on sustainability
- Contribute to building relationships with key stakeholders relevant to the discipline on a Business Unit level, ensuring engagements are consistent with Business Unit and Group sustainability initiatives and standards
- Oversee all stakeholder engagements
- Align with HR department to ensure candidate search is triggered and interviews are arranged
- Conduct interviews
- Provide feedback on candidates

- Ensure compliance of the discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements

This role is in the Social Performance department at a Band 5 level reporting to the Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Impact Manager
Qualifications
- Degree in Economic / Social Sciences / Business Management
- Project Management qualification (advantageous)
- Public relations qualification (advantageous)
- Conflict Management qualification (advantageous)
- MBA or other financial / commercial qualification(advantageous)
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Corporate Affairs (CA) and Sustainable Impact, of which 5 years in the mining industry (multi commodity and geographic exposure an advantage)
- National, regional or municipal services industry experience
- Track record of Local and Regional partnership development
- Project management fundamentals
- New technologies and their impact on operational activities within scope of role
- Commercial / business drivers in discipline, business performance variability and underlying causes that define subsequent actions
- Basic financial metrics, cost and value management & budgeting tools
- Risk management techniques and critical controls
- Value chain management within discipline, and awareness of interdependencies across value chain steps
- Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory and permitting requirements
