Key Job Responsibilities
- Know the correct and safe procedure to collect vibration data on site;
- Sound knowledge of vibration data collection;
- Understanding of vibration levels and on mine specific vibration levels;
- Knowledge of Pruftechnik vibration analysis software, must be able to create new data routes and move data around in the data base must also know how to create a new machine;
- Capture field data and interpret as required on site;
- Capable of giving sound advice on site for urgent actions to be taken after the survey;
- Assist line personnel in trouble shooting off highlighted problems;
- Ensure the use of condition monitoring to eradicate the problem;
- Understanding of equipment and analytical trouble shooting techniques;
- Ensure lockout procedures are complied with as required;
- Ensure that data collection on moving machinery is carried out in a safe manner;
- Ensure that subordinates comply with safety requirements;
- Ensure that risk assessment is carried out and completed;
- Ensure that the health and safety standards of subordinates are complied with;
- Sound understanding of all mine/Joy standards and procedures;
- Understanding of applicability in the section of mine standards and procedures;
- Ensure that site work (SD’s) is booked in on completion within 24hours;
- Understanding of KMC orders and invoicing procedures;
- Ensure that condition monitoring is high profile by making a meaningful contribution to higher efficiency in maintenance;
- Understanding and knowledge of all appropriate condition monitoring techniques and applicability of JOY machinery.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Grade 12/N3;
- Experienced artisan Mechanical/Electrical with 2 years’ minimum experience as an artisan;
- 3 years’ condition monitoring with vibration analysis experience compulsory;
- MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint);
- Level 2 vibration analysis certified;
- Level 2 & 3 Oil analysis certified;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own car.
