Description
- A vacancy exists for a CSSD Assistant reporting to the responsible Unit Manager. The successful candidate will form part of the multidisciplinary team performing nursing activities ensuring quality patient care.
Critical Outputs
- Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
- Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by the team leader
- Receiving, checking, packing of sets and sterile loan sets
- Management of linen
- Efficient use of equipment and materials
- Maintain health, safety and infection control standards
- Assist with stock control procedures
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Two years’ experience within the Private Healthcare Sector
- Working knowledge of autoclaves and washing of instruments
- Experience in packing theatre equipment and sets
- Understanding of theatre linen management
- Working knowledge of CSSD stock management
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours
